Design, motion and campaigns for museums, theatres and cultural organisations.

I'm Matt White. I help arts and culture organisations turn their programmes into campaigns people actually connect with. From brand identity to motion graphics, print to screen, with the sector knowledge that only comes from years on the inside.

Most cultural organisations sit somewhere between a small internal team that handles the day-to-day and the occasional need for something bigger: a campaign for a major show, a rebrand, a motion piece for a launch, exhibition graphics that actually work at scale.

The usual options are to stretch the internal team, hire a generalist who doesn't know the sector, or go to an agency and spend three times the budget.

Catlips Creative is the alternative. I bring strategic thinking and hands-on delivery across print, digital and motion, with over a decade of experience working inside organisations like yours. I understand programming cycles, funding constraints, internal team dynamics and what it actually takes to get design out the door when the budget is tight and the deadline was yesterday.

Why work with me

I've been where you are. Before Catlips, I spent years in-house at the Science Museum Group, National Army Museum, the British Museum and the Museum of London. I know what it's like to manage competing stakeholders, work within brand guidelines that haven't been updated since 2014, and produce a campaign when the imagery arrives three days before print deadline.

I design things your team can actually use. A beautiful campaign is only useful if your team can maintain it. I design with your internal workflows in mind, creating assets that work in Canva, follow logical naming conventions and come with guidance your team can follow without needing to call me every time.

I do the thinking and the making. You don't need one person to write a strategy document and another to execute it. I work across brand identity, campaign design, motion graphics, video editing and print production. One relationship, one point of contact, joined-up thinking from brief to delivery.

I'm transparent about cost. Published day rates and retainer packages. No surprises, no scope creep conversations, no 'we'll get back to you with a quote'. Cultural organisations work with fixed budgets and grant funding. I respect that.

Let's talk about your next project

Whether it's a campaign, a rebrand, a festival programme or ongoing design support, I'd love to hear what you're working on.
